My name is Howard Maffucci, and I respectfully seek your vote and your support to continue to serve as the county legislator for the 10th District of the Monroe County Legislature – that includes portions of Pittsford, Brighton, and East Rochester.
I will continue to bring my energy, experiences, and collegial nature to county government as we all strive to make Monroe County a better place to live for everyone. I always had an open door policy as a school administrator, and I have brought that with me to county government.
As your County Legislator, I pledge to always be a force working to revitalize our local economy and bring more jobs to the area with smart, long-term planning. I will fight for responsible budgeting that won’t continue to shift a greater tax burden onto homeowners. And I will continue to champion and promote ethics reform and increase transparency in government that all too often leaves its constituents in the dark.
I have lived in Pittsford with my wife Tina, a retired Pittsford teacher, for over 35 years raising two children, both Sutherland High School graduates. My children were raised in Pittsford and currently reside here.
I earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from SUNY College at Brockport in 1973 and began a 14-year teaching career with the Pittsford School District in 1974, teaching middle-level social studies and coaching football and ice hockey. I served as superintendent of schools of the East Rochester School District from 1996 to 2010. I began my administrative career in 1988 as an assistant principal at Gates Chili High School and became the high school principal in East Rochester in 1991. I am currently a negotiator for the School Administrators Association of New York State.
After my first year serving in office it is even more apparent that we need balanced and responsible voices in government. With your support, I will continue to bring that to the 10th Legislative District in the Monroe County Legislature. Please feel free to contact me anytime.
